BBC History Magazine is 10 years old

Our May 2010 edition is now on sale, a decade after our debut issue was launched. Then, as now, Winston Churchill featured on the cover. Our first issue declared that the post-war era had finally come to an end, while this month we delve into the remarkable turnaround at Dunkirk in 1940.

Also in our latest issue we mark our anniversary with a rundown of the 50 biggest history stories of the past ten years. Dramatic discoveries, iconic TV moments and a few brushes with the law all played their part in keeping history in the headlines since 2000.
