From slices of Einstein's brain to 3000-year-old trepanned skulls and ancient Egyptian mummified brains, the Wellcome Collection's major new exhibition, Brains: The Mind As Matter, takes a closer look at what humans have done to brains throughout history.
The exhibition features more than 150 artefacts including real brains, artworks, manuscripts, artefacts, videos and photography, and follows the long quest to manipulate and decipher the most unique and mysterious of human organs, whose secrets continue to confound and inspire.
Brains: The Mind As Matter is on display at the Wellcome Collection, London, until 17 June 2012 and admission is free. Find out more about the exhibition at the Wellcome Collection website
