For thousands of years the myths and legends of the Ancient Greeks have inspired the rest of the world. Terrifying monsters, valiant heroes and vengeful gods all play their parts in some of the greatest stories ever told. Our new exhibition tells some of these stories and shows how different societies have interpreted Greek culture to reflect themselves. Although the exhibition is designed particularly with children in mind there will be something for all ages to enjoy, from ancient pots to modern comics.

This exhibition explores how the local landscape has been a source of inspiration for artists from the nineteenth century to the present.
Many artists, including Charles William Brown and Reginald Haggar, lived in and around Stoke-on-Trent, where they painted pictures of the extraordinary industrial landscape. Others, such as Michael Ayrton and Mark Wood, visited the Potteries, creating their own distinctive images of the area.
Overall, the exhibition surveys how artists have pictured the Potteries, from a semi-rural idyll to an industrial metropolis and, more recently, a city undergoing a process of transformation.

A display showing the development and making of a 9ft Anglo-Saxon warrior. This specially commissioned sculpture has been created by internationally renowned local artist Andrew Edwards and has been created in response to the Staffordshire Hoard.
Edwards has taken his inspiration from the Hoard and adorned the figure with 17 individual items observed directly from the breathtaking archaeological find.
The figure has been modelled in clay to create a mould and the finished sculpture will be made of carbon fibre with a traditional bronze-looking finish.
The statue itself will be on public display from 18 May.

Meet Busy Lizzy as she journeys on through the garden of life. She’s a woman with flower power from long ago, and though ancient she maybe, going to seed she certainly is not. In the morning you can chat with ecological artist Sue Hurrell in Our Secret Garden about gardening for nature's benefit and her 'How Does Your Garden Grow' display.
Children will also be able to make a mask of a mini beast that could be found in the garden and be transformed into a ladybird, beetle or butterfly! Times for craft activity, 10.30am - 3pm, £1.
