Death - or hidden historical treasures

Postby Reginald Dalton » Thu May 06, 2010 5:19 pm

Hi

I just read this article on the site
http://www.bbchistorymagazine.com/blog/ ... nt-our-own

and it struck a cord as I've visited the cemetery mentioned not to long ago, and it was really an impressive sight to find such an ancient cemetery, with such historic significance, almost in the middle of the bustling metropolis that is Athens. Considering how in awe I was I'm still confounded that noone I speak to has ever been there, even those with an interest in history.

Which made me wonder, anyone else have any such "secret" locations with historical significance that they feel are overlooked?

Thank you

Reg
