Land Girls

Did anybody watch it?

Does anybody know of someone who was in the Womens Land Army? My Mother was for aboutr 18 months to 2 years. She was based in Flint in Wales.

She didn't watch the programme as the uniform wasn't exactly right! I watched it, but I felt a little let down by it. It was more about the girls love lives than anything on the land!

One of my aunties was in the firewatch on the south coast, moved from the north to do it - but was not a land girl. She dropped out quietly having fallen from grace - I rather feel she knew this at the time of joining up and chose to leave her home area and have the baby in anonymity. So maybe there is something in the programme that touches on the favourite pastimes of these young women, freed from the watchful eyes of parents and wondering whether the world was about to end.

BTW is it very quiet in here? Or do I talk too much?
