Save Canterbury's Museums!!

Postby Francesca Day » Mon Feb 15, 2010 9:36 pm

I am hoping that this post will help gather more support for a campaign to save Canterbury's Roman Museum and Westgate Tower Museum. Due to proposed Council cutbacks these fascinating parts of our heritage are under threat of closure. Local newspaper reports have said that David Starkey supports the campaign to save them. I hope you will too.

This week's local paper has arrived and the council have pledged that the the museums under threat will not be closed this year. Unfortunately they will be reducing the museum's budget but they are going to look at finding partners to help keep them open. Fingers crossed.
