hi all,
I have just finished THE NOBLE REVOLT BY JOHN ADAMSON [the overthrow of charlles 1]this book does
not discuss the battles or the outcome of the civil war, but instead the build up to charles raising his
standard at nottingham. it is a brilliant book starting with how a small group of english noblemen
risked their lives to challenge the kings authority, which also engulfs scotland and ireland and leads eventually to war.
This book pans out like a intricate game of chess and even at 500 plus pages i never wanted to put it down, the book is that intresting its hard to believe its true and not a best selling fiction book.
if like me you are intrested in english history please read.
