Just to flag up and say how much I am enjoying Saving Britain's past
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00mg4wsThe second programme focused on Park Hill, Sheffield was particularly thought provoking as it questioned a lot of my assumptions about 'modern' architecture. Is it perhaps true that we alway reject the buildings of our parent's generation, while wholeheartedly embracing our grandparents architecture? After all in the 50s and 60s many, many Victorian buildings were lost or changed out of all recognition, although now we fight to preserve every brick of them. Will our children view mid 20th century architecture with a different eye?
