You may have seen on BBC London recently that SS Robin, the world's last remaining steamcoaster, arrived home to the Royal Docks in East London on 13th July. (Video and photos in the links below)http://youtu.be/-EOZcQDErJohttp://www.flickr.com/photos/james-spel ... 062457833/
The ship was built in 1890, just a mile or so from where she now stands in the Royal Victoria Dock. There's loads of info online if you google 'SS Robin'. As you will know if you're an East Londoner, there's not a lot of heritage left at the Royal Docks, and we hope the ship, now displayed out of the water on a floating pontoon, will become a focal point for the history of the Docks.
The SS Robin Trust is currently working hard on a bid for money from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and we need the help of anyone who's willing to complete a short online survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SSRobin-Royals
If you have a moment, please give it a go - it'll only take a minute or two - and your feedback will help us with the Lottery bid.
