Yeah that book looks really interesting. I'm doing history at Southampton University, and I'm thinking on doing a dissertation on wars in Europe from around Tudor times to the Napoleonic wars, just to have an excuse to read that 30 Years War book. I'm thinking of one about either how and why Britain got involved in wars on the continental, or perhaps one about the impacts of wars on Europe, based on the fact that Wikipedia seems to say that every war ended status quo ante. Maybe reading this book will help me decide; and even if it doesn't, I'm sure it will make a good read.
