Around 70 vintage photographs spanning 40 years of Hollywood history are now on show at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
The exhibition includes portraits of Clark Gable, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Vivien Leigh, Loretta Young and Joan Collins that have never before been exhibited in the UK.
Stills from films such as Gone with the Wind, Swing Time and Rebel without a Cause, once used for lobby cards and posters, are shown alongside the images, which date to between 1920 and 1960, and are drawn from the archive of the John Kobal Foundation.
Glamour of the Gods: Hollywood Portraits is on show at the National Portrait Gallery until 23 October 2011. To buy tickets or to find out more about the exhibition itself, visit the National Portrait Gallery website.
