About the exhibition
The Fitzwilliam Museum will be revealing the secret life of the mannequin this October – from its beginnings as an inconspicuous studio tool, to its 20th-century status as a work of art in its own right.
The exhibition will feature more than 180 paintings, drawings, books and photographs, as well as fashion dolls, trade catalogues, patent documents and videos.
Silent Partners: Artist and Mannequin from Function to Fetish will be on show at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, from 14 October–25 January 2015. Find out more at the museum's website
