Ethiopia was a Christian kingdom during the medieval period, and in the 15th and 16th centuries its kings sent diplomatic missions to their counterparts in western Europe. Back in 2021, we spoke to Verena Krebs about what these missions can tell us about the medieval world, and Ethiopia’s place within it. Since speaking to us, Verena has been awarded the Dan David Prize for 2022.
