Winchester History Weekend 2018
From 5-7 October, BBC History Magazine’s History Weekend will be returning for its third year to the vibrant Hampshire town of Winchester. The ancient capital of Wessex is steeped in Anglo-Saxon and medieval history and we’re delighted to again be hosting the festival in two fantastic venues in the centre of the city: the stunning 13th-century Great Hall, which houses a famous replica of King Arthur’s round table, and Ashburton Hall at nearby Elizabeth II Court. Featuring 30 diverse and engaging talks, interactive Q&As and book signings from the world’s leading historians and authors – including Lucy Worsley, Suzannah Lipscomb, Tracy Borman, Michael Wood and Diarmaid MacCulloch – it's a weekend not to be missed...
