I’m Matt, HistoryExtra’s podcast editor. I work with the entire editorial team, and a diverse array of historians and experts, to put together a packed schedule of fascinating, accessible and entertaining podcast episodes – on everything from ancient Assyria to the continuing shadow of the Cold War. I love bringing listeners gripping stories and fresh takes on the past, highlighting both world-famous and lesser-known voices through both our main podcast feed and various other channels. Away from the podcast, I also script and present videos for our YouTube channel, create clips for social media, and write a regular page for the print magazine. I’ve been a journalist for more than 15 years, contributing to a number of other titles including Who Do You You Think You Are? Magazine and BBC Music magazine before starting work at HistoryExtra back in 2012. Since then, I’ve worked for the brand in various roles – from reviews editor and world history editor to deputy editor – moving to specialise in podcasts last year.
