This talk brings into the spotlight the women of Nero’s household and their powerful influence over his life, rule, and legacy.

Speaker bio: Dr Carey Fleiner is senior lecturer in classical history at the University of Winchester. Publications include Doctor Who and History: Critical Essays on Imagining the Past(Dene October, co-editor, McFarland, 2017) and A Writer’s Guide to History…The Romans(Manchester University Press, 2019). She lives on the south coast of England.
