Welcome to the HistoryExtra Academy, exclusive to members of HistoryExtra.

The Academy gives you the chance to delve deeper into some of history’s biggest topics with regular online courses, each led by a historical expert.

Courses run over a four- or six-week period and feature a range of different content – from a weekly video lecture, delivered by the course expert, to features, podcasts, quizzes, and more.

You can work through the learning at your own pace, or dip in and out of the content you find most interesting. We’ll send you a weekly email with links to all the content for that week and the rest is up to you.

Each course also includes two live, online Q&A sessions with the course expert, during which you can ask questions and share your thoughts on what you’ve learned.

At the end of the course, you’ll be able to download a certificate as a ‘graduate’ of the HistoryExtra Academy.

If you miss a course, don’t worry, content for all past courses is accessible all year round, including a recording of the live Q&A session, so you can work through them in your own time.

The HistoryExtra Academy is free with your membership to HistoryExtra. If you have a print subscription to BBC History Magazine, you can use your subscriber number to unlock your free HistoryExtra access and join our online courses.
