History Weekends 2019: David Reynolds
David Reynolds will be speaking about Britain and its history in the age of Brexit at our 2019 History Weekend in Chester

Talk: Island Stories: Britain and its History in the Age of Brexit
Chester: Saturday 26 October, 20.30–21.30
Talk synopsis: History has been central to the Brexit debate – but mostly recent history, since 1940. David Reynolds offers a longer view going back over the last millennium and encompassing all the countries of the UK. He argues that being clearer about where we’ve come from might help us discern where we should be going.

David Reynolds is Professor of International History at Cambridge and a Fellow of the British Academy. An award-winning historian and TV & radio presenter, he’s the author of twelve books – most recently Island Stories: Britain and its History in the Age of Brexit and The Kremlin Letters: Stalin’s Correspondence with Churchill and Roosevelt (with Vladimir Pechatnov).
