Lady Jane Grey

Lady Jane Grey was the cousin of Tudor king Edward VI, probably born in the latter half of 1536. She was the eldest daughter of Henry Grey, later Duke of Suffolk, and Lady Frances Brandon. She was proclaimed queen in July 1553 when Edward died, but was deposed after nine days by Edward's eldest sister Mary (later Mary I). She was condemned to death and executed at the Tower of London on 12 February 1554.
