Twelve evening outfits created between 1900 and 2000 are currently on display at Sudley House, highlighting changes to women’s role in society in that period, and examining how social changes were reflected in fashion.
Among the items on display is a stunning evening dress dating from 1907–09, complete with lace detail and decorated with jet beads and sequins.
20th Century Chic: 100 Years of Women’s Fashion is on display at Sudley House, Aigburth, Liverpool, until 31 March 2013 and admission is free. Find out more at the Sudley House website.
