  • Blood, Betrayal and Mary, Queen of Scots
  • Ashburton Hall, Elizabeth II Court
  • Friday 5 October
  • 20.00–21.00

Mary, Queen of Scots is a fascinating figure – a queen who began with privilege and power but ended up a prisoner. Kate will discuss her new research into the woman who was the mother of the Stuart dynasty, her life of blood and betrayal, and asks: what could she have done differently?

Kate Williams is the author of five history books and four historical novels, and a professor of history at Reading. She regularly broadcasts on history on a variety of programmes from BBC Breakfast to The Great British Bake Off. Her series The Stuarts aired earlier this year.
