Tracy Borman will be speaking on the men who helped to shape the life of the England’s famous Tudor monarch at our 2019 History Weekend in Winchester

BBC History Magazine will host two History Weekends in 2019.

Talk: Henry VIII and the Men who Made Him


Winchester: Saturday 2 November, 16.40–17.40

Talk synopsis: Henry VIII is famous for being the king who married six times. But it was the men in his life who really held sway. In this talk, based upon her recent biography, Henry VIII and the Men Who Made Him, Tracy Borman will tell the story of England’s most famous monarch through the eyes of his men.


Tracy Borman

Speaker bio: Tracy Borman is a best-selling author, historian and broadcaster, specialising in the Tudor period. Her books include The Private Lives of the Tudors, Thomas Cromwell (a Sunday Times best seller), Elizabeth’s Womenand The King’s Witch. Tracy is also joint Chief Curator of Historic Royal Palaces and a regular contributor to BBC History Magazine.
