Talk synopsis: In this talk, inspired by her debut novels (The King’s Witchand its sequel, The Devil’s Slave), Tracy Borman will take us into the turbulent world of the early Stuart court, where King James I waged a war on witches and Catholics alike. She will reveal the real history that inspired her book.

Speaker bio: Tracy Borman is a best-selling author, historian and broadcaster, specialising in the Tudor period. Her books include The Private Lives of the Tudors, Thomas Cromwell (a Sunday Times best seller), Elizabeth’s Womenand The King’s Witch. Tracy is also joint Chief Curator of Historic Royal Palaces and a regular contributor to BBC History Magazine.
