A new website, OldMapsOnline, has recently been launched, allowing users to search for digital historical maps across numerous different collections via a geographical search.
The website, funded by JISC, features maps from the David Rumsey Map Collection, thought by some to be the largest free online digital collection of historical topographic maps and images, and the National Library of Scotland's 43,000-strong map library.
Also featured are two collections from the British Library: Ordnance Surveyors' Drawings made between the 1780s and 1840 during the first detailed survey of Britain, and the Crace Collection of maps of London, which charts the development of the city from around 1570 to 1860.
