Charlotte Vosper
As a content producer at HistoryExtra, I co-ordinate several sections of our print magazine. From keeping on top of the latest historical books; to working with leading historians to create in-depth, fascinating features; to interviewing best-selling authors about their historical research; I write, commission, and organise a range of our regular print pieces.
Beyond our magazine, I also get involved with digital content creation. You can catch me on the HistoryExtra podcast, where I chat to experts about a diverse range of historical topics – from 19th century working-class experiences on London’s streets, to histories of sexual difference in the National Trust! I also love to get involved with social media, whether that’s appearing in our videos, or discussing the social strategy behind them.
I’m a qualified historian, with a MA and BA in History from the University of Bristol. My specialism is medieval mysticism, particularly accessing the experiences of female mystics through a source-base dominated by male scribes.
Prior to my role at HistoryExtra, I’ve worked as a freelance podcaster, producing and hosting podcasts on a variety of topics, and used my historical analytical skills as a freelance researcher for film and television.
