Isabel King
I’m Isabel, Junior Content Producer at HistoryExtra. I commission, edit and produce issue content for our Apple News channel, as well as researching and writing articles for the HistoryExtra website.
Alongside digital content, I lead the Q and A and ‘Ask the Experts’ sections of the print magazine, where I ask prominent historians and writers the questions our audience really want to know the answers to, from the thought-provoking to the bizarre! You can also hear me on the HistoryExtra podcast, where I interview historians about various topics; my main historical interests are socio-cultural history (especially gender, sexuality and identity politics), medical history, and Nazi Germany.
I'm a trained public historian, with a BA in History from the University of Bristol and an MA in Public History from Royal Holloway, University of London. I have previously written historical articles for the university newspaper, blogs and for Bristol Post’s ‘Bristol Times’ local history pull-out. I have museum curation experience and have previously produced a podcast series. Before working as Junior Content Producer, I was a freelance fact-checker for the magazine.
