Charles Darwin – by Mia, 11, Kent

Over the time I have spent indoors, I have had lots of time to explore nature and research about animals. I am missing not being able to go on voyages with my family and friends because I always have so much fun. My famous book ‘The Origin of the Species’ is about how the populations evolve over generations through a process called Natural Selection. I believe that we humans evolved from apes, they have 92% human features and these creatures are just so fascinating, I can’t wait to explore and plan more trips to see new species and test some of my theories after lockdown! Mary I – by Nandita, 13, East Midlands

I have been tremendously bored at this devastating time in lockdown. Firstly, I can’t burn any protestants. Secondly, my sister Elizabeth is so annoying nowadays and I also feel like burning her. Thirdly, my dad Henry keeps on eating all of the food and getting fatter and fatter day by day and there is hardly any food for us. I hope lockdown will end soon so I can be evil, mean and horrible like normal. Love from Mary I xxx | By Nandita, 13, East Midlands

Amelia Earhart – Alice, 8, Essex

Hi. My name is Amelia Earhart. Right now I am in lockdown for the situation of coronavirus. I am missing my yellow plane, the Canary, so much because I am not allowed to fly it. So I have been staying in and making paper planes, also watching old videos of me on my plane. Bye for now. | By Alice, 8, Essex

Ancient Egyptian slave – by Emily, 9, Kent

It’s now flood season in Egypt but because of lockdown only 2 slaves are allowed to harvest the crops. I hope the pharaoh doesn’t set the sun too soon. Life has become harder for us slaves and we are suffering more than ever and not just from hunger. The pharaoh is shouting at us more than ever. He says “you’re taking too long on my tomb”. Although there are only 3 people working on it and because of that he has shortened our food supply. Some slaves are near death. From Emily, the ancient Egyptian slave. | By Emily Payne, 9, Kent

Florence Nightingale – by Miranda, 7, East Yorkshire

I would like to go back to nursing but it’s for my own good. We all would but we can’t. I think if we nurses help cure things we will be able to. Maybe it would be nice if I went back to reading for a little while (until it is over). But how are going to cure the trouble? We will think about it. Winston Churchill – by Jack, 13, Newcastle

I am stuck in 10 Downing Street in the middle of a blumming war! It is so boring because all I have for company are the staff and cats that never talk to me. To be honest, sometimes I just talk to the paintings on the wall as if they talk back. But they never do, I really want this lockdown to be over. Yours sincerely, Winston Churchill | By Jack Hutton, 13, Newcastle

Charles II – By Michael, 10, East Yorkshire

This is horrible. I can’t party, I can’t be awesome, and I can’t have the smallest of parties. I really do hope this ends soon, or I will grow old with not enough parties. Sincerely, Charles II

Marie Antoinette – by Zara, 10, Lancashire

I have nothing to do in Versailles, the palace is very quiet. I really need a new dress being made for me. Oh and also a big piece of cake. From Marie Antoinette | By Zara, 10, Lancashire

William the Conqueror – by Toby, 10, Cheshire

Lockdown, lockdown! Will my invasion ever take place?! My fleet has already been held up by bad weather. I have prayed everyday for the wind to change direction and for the rain to stop. Finally just as we were ready to go, LOCKDOWN! Aaarghh! When I eventually get to England, Harold had better keep an eye on that crown. William, Duke of Normandy | By Toby, 10, Cheshire

Queen Victoria – by Nia, 10, Sheffield

I am stuck in Osborne house on the Isle of Wight with my nine children. They are driving me mad. I've sent them to their play house in the grounds to finally have some peace and quiet. I may have a whole chocolate sponge to keep my energy up. It's hard work looking after children you know! Then I'll be going off with Albert to the children's playhouse for afternoon tea. Regards, your majesty Queen Victoria | By Nia, 10, Sheffield
